Read Apocalyptic Fiction on the Amazon Kindle

We humans just can't seem to get enough of hypothesizing how it will all end. Like a candle snuffed out or a big boom, we can't decide which way we'd rather go, so the best we can do is let those who write fiction decide for us.

Dated, but still valid, Philip K. Dick's Dr. Bloodmoney tells the story of a post-apocalyptic world after a nuclear fallout (then set in the future - 1981).

Set 1,000 years from the present, Eternity Road tells the story of a world destroyed by a plague, 8 years before the novel's beginning.

Year Zero is part thrill and part apocalyptic scare-fare. With a Christ-archeological based story, this one would probably be of interest to those who also enjoyed the DaVinci Code.

Depressing, depressing and more depressing. Just like you'd expect the end of the world to be. Picked as an Oprah Book Club Selection, this father/son tale is exactly the sort of apocalyptic fare you'd expect from McCarthy.
